Upcycle Inspiration! Transform Your Old Plastic Sewing Box into a Trendy Snackle Box

Upcycle Inspiration! Transform Your Old Plastic Sewing Box into a Trendy Snackle Box!

Hey, fellow DIY enthusiasts! Have you ever wondered what to do with that old plastic sewing box collecting dust in your basement? I’ve got an exciting idea that will give it a new purpose! Let’s turn it into a fabulous “Snackle Box” – a trendy and functional container for all your favorite snacks. Get ready to impress your friends at picnics, movie nights, or any snacking occasion! 🍿🍪🥪

I just recently gifted the one shown in this post to a dear friend for her fortieth birthday. It was a HUGE hit.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to creating your own upcycled Snackle Box using a vinyl decal.

Step 1: Gather Your Materials

  • An old plastic sewing box: choose one that’s in good condition.
  • Vinyl decals: decide on a design for your vinyl decal. I created one using the crazy daisy pyrex pattern and Cricut Design Space. I used my Cricut machine to cut out the decal.
  • Snack containers: *Find small plastic or glass containers to fit into the compartments. They’ll keep your snacks fresh and organized. (*Optional) – I didn’t use any.

Step 2: Clean and Prepare the Box

Start by cleaning the sewing box thoroughly. Remove any dust or debris to ensure a clean surface for the decals. Wipe it down with a damp cloth and let it dry completely.

Step 3: Apply Vinyl Decals

Now, it’s time to add a pop of personality to your Snackle Box! Carefully peel the vinyl decal(s) and apply them to the exterior of the box. Feel free to get creative and mix and match different designs, patterns, or even add personalized decals like your name or favorite snack quotes. Arrange them in a way that pleases your eye and makes your Snackle Box unique!

Step 4: Snack Organization

Once your Snackle Box is adorned with the vinyl decals, it’s time to organize your snacks! If using, place the small plastic or glass containers inside the compartments. Fill them with an assortment of your favorite treats like nuts, dried fruits, crackers, or even bite-sized desserts. Customizing your snacks is part of the fun! This is what I put in the Snackle Box I made. I also included a can koozie and a customized plastic drinking glass.

Step 5: Share and Enjoy!

Your upcycled Snackle Box is now ready to shine at any snacking occasion! Whether it’s a cozy movie night at home or a fun-filled picnic with friends, this unique creation is sure to turn heads. Not only is it an eco-friendly option, but it’s also a conversation starter that showcases your creativity.

Remember, upcycling is a fantastic way to give new life to items that would otherwise go to the garbage. So why not channel your imagination and transform other unused objects into functional and beautiful pieces? The possibilities are endless!

I’d love for you to share your upcycling projects with me and inspire others to embark on their own creative journeys. Happy snacking with your Snackle Box!
