Day 3 – 12 Days of Christmas Trash to Treasure
Revamping a Battery-Operated Flickering Candle with Scrapbook Paper
Welcome back to the 12 Days of Christmas Trash to Treasure, where I am on a mission to transform the forgotten and discarded into holiday gems! On this third day, I’m diving into a delightful project that brings warmth and charm to your festive decor.
Today’s task: revamping a battery-operated flickering candle with the magic of scrapbook paper. This simple yet creative DIY project can breathe new life into an old candle and add a cozy touch to your holiday setting.
I found this battery operated flickering candle at a thrift store for $1.00, I did not like the outside so I decided to update the look with some scrapbook paper.

Materials You’ll Need:
Battery-operated flickering candle
Scrapbook paper with your favorite holiday design
Scissors
Glue or two sided tape
Ribbon or twine (optional)
This is the paper I choose.

Steps to Revamp Your Candle:
Gather Your Supplies: Before you start, make sure you have all the materials listed above ready. Pick a scrapbook paper with a design that matches your holiday decor theme.
Measure and Cut: Measure the height and circumference of your candle and cut a piece of scrapbook paper to fit these dimensions.

Wrap the Paper: Carefully wrap the scrapbook paper around the battery-operated candle, aligning it to fit snugly. Use glue or double-sided tape to adhere paper to the candle
Optional Embellishments: If you want to add a decorative touch, consider tying a ribbon or twine around the candle’s base or creating a small bow.
Enjoy the Flickering Glow: turn it on and bask in the cozy, flickering ambiance it provides. Place it on your mantle, dining table, or wherever you’d like to add some holiday charm.
And there you have it—a beautifully revamped battery-operated flickering candle that brings a touch of elegance to your Christmas decor. It’s a simple yet impactful way to repurpose items and infuse the holiday season with a bit of DIY magic.
Stay tuned for another Trash to Treasure Christmas Decor idea coming tomorrow. I’ve got plenty more holiday crafting adventures to share with you. Until then, keep spreading the holiday cheer!
