Day 2 – 12 Days of Christmas 2023 – Trash to Treasure
**This 12 Days of Christmas Idea was originally posted in 2019
Welcome back to the 12 Days of Christmas Trash to Treasure, where we’re on a mission to transform the forgotten and discarded into holiday gems! On Day 2- I am bringing to you, not one, but two revamped serving trays.
This was one of my favorite Trash to Treasure posts from the past. Repurposed/recycled thrifted trays into Christmas decor.
The first tray is made of wood and rattan. Normally I would paint a tray like this but decided to leave it as it was as I hoped the red Chalk paste would be a nice accent.
I used my “merry” transfer and candy apple red chalk paste. I was very pleased with the bright red against the wood grain. I like the understated elegant simplicity of it.
The second tray is metal and also found at a thrift store . I painted the tray red and wasn’t sure what I was going to do with it until I received my “North Pole” snow globe Chalk Couture transfer. This was not a difficult project but it did involve several steps of layering. The hardest part was waiting for each layer of paste to dry (I used a hairdryer to speed things along).
This tray is so darn cute it could be used as wall decor.
That concludes Day 2 – 12 Days of Christmas Trash to Treasure 2023.
Come back tomorrow for Day 3
