Day 5- A WandafulThing 12 Days of Christmas 2020

                  A WandafulThing 12 Days of Christmas 2020 – Day 5

Thank you for joining me for my 12 Days of Christmas 2020.

If you missed the previous 4 days- there will be a link at the end of this post.

This year I am going back to basics of why I started my blog and that was to inspire you to make, bake, create and decorate, all on a budget of course.  From now until the end of November, I will share some simple, easy and budget friendly ideas just in time for the holidays.

Day 5:  No Bake Energy Balls

If you are looking for the perfect little snack to help curb your sweet craving, these no bake energy balls provide the perfect mid-day boost for you or any member of your family. Made with just four wholesome and filling ingredients.

Here is what you need:

  • 1 cup semi-sweet mini chocolate chips
  • 2/3 cup natural creamy peanut butter or Peabutter – (if you have an allergy to peanut butter (boo – I do))
  • 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1/4 cup honey

How to:

  • Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  • Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl.
  • Mix well until all ingredients are coated.
  • Scoop the mixture using a 1 tablespoon measuring spoon and roll into balls.
  • Refrigerate on lined baking sheet for 1 hour or until firm.
  • Store refrigerated in tightly covered container until ready to eat.

You can take these no bake energy balls up a notch by dipping in melted chocolate.  Once energy bites are dipped in melted chocolate, return to parchment paper and refrigerate for another hour until the chocolate is set. They would make a great hostess gift, great neighbor gifts and of course a healthy snack to leave for Santa.

Easy, no bake energy balls.  It’s AWandafulThing!

A WandafulThing 12 Days of Christmas 2017 – Day 11

                                    A WandafulThing 12 Days of Christmas 2017 – Day 11

Welcome to Day 11 of my 12 Days of Christmas 2017.  I am so glad you are here.  If you have been following along for the 12 Days of Christmas 2017 posts you know that the theme of my 12 posts are about either thrifted, gifted or vintage Christmas presents that I am giving this year.

Today’s gift is a thrifted decorative sleigh filled with new and vintage items for a coffee or tea lover or both.

I found two of these decorative sleighs at a local thrift store for $1.25 (for both).  I am currently using the larger one to hold the TV and DVD remotes on my side table as I am forever misplacing them.  Oops, I digressed.

It would look great filled with Lindt chocolates, maybe the recipient will use it for a candy dish after they consume the tea, coffee and Swiss chocolates.

I found two cute vintage glass tea bag holders and a set of “tea” tongs.  I added a few Keuriq cups and a box of Peppermint tea and filled in the gaps with Swiss chocolate.

I think this is the perfect gift for anyone on your list that enjoys, coffee, tea and chocolate.

It’s been a great deal of fun showing you all the gifts I am giving this year, and I can’t wait to show you the final day tomorrow – be sure to come back for Day 12.

Love Day Blog Party

Welcome to my ” Love Day” Blog Party.

love-blog-party-invite

If you didn’t get a chance to partake in my Winter Blog Party on November 27, 2016, I hope you can stop by on February 12th – 2017 to share something about Love Day a.k.a.Valentine’s Day.  Please feel free to post anything that conjures up a feeling of love for you. Be that a good book, a cup of coffee, your dog, your kids, a craft, an idea – well you get the point.

I am looking forward to curling up in front of my computer with a nice big box of my favorite chocolates (dark chocolate sea salted caramels – hey I know you were wondering) and a hot cup of tea (or three) and checking out your posts and blogs. So read the rules and I look forward to partying with you on February 12th.

For those of you who have never participated in a blog party before, here are the rules:

1. Choose your favorite post from your own blog, instragram, twitter or your facebook page. The subject of the post can be anything you like just try to incorporate Love in there somehow 🙂 Post as many as three but only one post at a time and be sure to spend time visiting others who post, but don’t start posting until February 12, 2017.

2. Copy the URL

3. Paste the link in the comment section of this post.

4. Blog posts only please (or something of your own from twitter, instagram, facebook etc.) No Amazon pages, YouTube, Spotify or Etsy promotion – I will delete these and any further links from anyone who ignores this.

5. Enjoy! Relax, pull up a chair and meet new people! Find new blogs, comment on their posts, be polite, courteous and respectful and don’t forget to follow, reblog, tweet, pin and share.

This is a really useful way of discovering new blogs. A good rule to follow is to check out at least two or three other bloggers for every link that you leave.

Please feel free to invite your friends and you can reblog this post!

Hope to see you there!

Day 11 – Edible DIY Pretzel Wreaths

Edible DIY Pretzel Wreaths

Here is a cute and delicious idea for Christmas. These can be made and given as gifts or hung on the Christmas tree.  I plan on storing some in an airtight container until Christmas Day and then my family and friends can pick an ornament from my tree that is edible and delicious.

pretzel-wreath-1

For these pretzel wreaths you will need 9 small pretzels for each wreath, melted chocolate chips to adhere the pieces together and candy of your choice for decorating.  I used M&Ms and colored sugar.

Lay your pretzels out on parchment or wax paper (to catch the extra chocolate and sugar, this could get messy) to the size you want, like I said I used 9 pretzels in total per wreath, 5 on the bottom and four on the top.  I dipped each of the bottom pretzels in the melted chocolate and placed on the parchment paper in the shape of a wreath. Then I dipped the 4 remaining pretzels and placed them so they would overlap the bottom layer. While the chocolate was still wet I added my candy and colored sugar.
