               A Wandaful Thing 12 Days of Christmas 2019 – Day  6

Welcome to Day 6 of my 12 Days of Christmas 2019 Pinterest Inspired things to make. I have to admit that this item is NOT inspired by Pinterest but I am hoping that after I post it to on my Pinterest account it becomes an inspiration for others to copy or modify and make.

Day 6  – I did a hack to adorable little IKEA Vinterfest lanterns.

As soon as I saw them at IKEA ( a package of three was $7.99), I knew exactly what I wanted to do with them.

For another project back in the Spring, I had purchased SVG maps of the Canadian Maritime provinces to use with HTV vinyl for baby onsies and t-shirts.  I had to really reduce the size of the maps to try and fit them on the little lanterns, but I did and it worked. I was worried about how my Cricut maker was going to cut the small version of the maps from permanent vinyl, but it did a great job.

The one above is a cut out from an SVG of a map of Cape Breton Island and the heart represents where I am from. I kinda love it 🙂I made two more for friends, one of the entire map of Nova Scotia and one of Prince Edward Island. They also really liked them.
