A WandafulThing 12 Days of Christmas 2020 – Day 7

This year I am going back to basics of why I started my blog and that was to inspire you to make, bake, create and decorate, all on a budget of course. From now until the end of November, I will share some simple, easy and budget friendly ideas just in time for the holidays.
Day 7 : DIY Nutcracker Place Card Holders
No Christmas is ever complete without the Nutcracker! This cute little set of place card holders will be adored by kids and grownups alike.
I have seen sets of Nutcracker place card holders for sale on Etsy and Amazon (they have a slit in the top of the hat to hold the place card). The set I have is actually a set of Nutcracker tree ornaments, which cost me $3.99 at my local thrift store.
I did not want to cut slits or make holes in them, just in case I want to use them again as Christmas tree ornaments. Instead I printed off some small tent cards 1 1/2 inches wide by 3 inches high and put the writing at the bottom of the card, so when they are folded in the middle, the name ends up in the right place. I used glue dots to attach the tent cards to the ends of their outstretched arms. This way the place cards can easily be changed up.
I just love how these Nutcracker Place Card Holders turned out. It’s AWandafulThing!
