                  A WandafulThing 12 Days of Christmas 2019 – Day 11

It’s getting really close to the end of my 12 Days of Christmas 2019. I hope you have been following along and enjoying my Pinterest Inspired ideas so far (links to projects can be found at the end of this post).

This is Day 11 and today’s post will be about using Chalk Couture products to make one of a kind Christmas decor.

I upcycled two thrift store serving trays.  The first tray is made of wood and rattan. Normally I would paint a tray like this but decided to leave it as it was as I hoped the red Chalk paste would be a nice accent.

I used my “merry” transfer and candy apple red chalk paste. I was very pleased with the bright red against the wood grain. I like the understated elegant simplicity of it.

The second tray I decided to upcycle was an old vintage metal tray.I painted the tray red awhile ago and wasn’t sure what I was going to do with it until I received my “North Pole” snow globe Chalk Couture transfer.  This was not a difficult project but it did involve several steps of layering. The hardest part was waiting for each layer of paste to dry (I used a hairdryer to speed things along).

This tray is so darn cute it could be used as wall decor.

My inspiration for this old metal tray came from this picture. I just loved the idea of a wall of old vintage metal trays. I found this picture here.
