IKEA Items and Chalk Couture #2

In my last post – check that out here, I showed you the first item I used Chalk Couture on from the 10 items I sourced at IKEA.

I also wanted to show how versatile and easy it is to make customized items for your home, using products from other box stores.

I purchased these really cute fake succulent plants and decided to cheer them up a bit with some simple words – gather, welcome, hello. I was on a roll and decided to add the hello transfer to the real succulent I bought as well.

Before

It was really easy to transform these items into custom and fun items to displace around the house – the little fake succulents will probably end up in my office as I have no natural light and these will add some green without the worry of them not thriving.

I used three of the smaller Chalk Couture transfers. They have a sticky side and a side that you put on the chalk paste or ink. I used chalk paste in a forest green for these projects. I had my tools ready which included my fuzzing cloth,  chalk paste, stir stick and small squeegie to apply the paste.

For the previous project (the shampoo dispenser) I used a spray matte lacquer to seal the paste. I did the same thing with the real plant, being careful, of course not to get any on the plant. I did this so when I water the plant I don’t accidentally wash off the word hello . I didn’t bother to seal the little fake succulents as there is no fear of them getting wet.

I really like how easy it is to use the Chalk Couture transfers on so many household surfaces.

However, I do still love all the surfaces that Chalk Couture sells and you can check all the products they sell right here on my own Chalk Couture website https://www.chalkcouture.com/awandafulthing

Here is a great example of a Chalk Coutured surface.

Stayed tuned for the next post as I will show you how I took this plain ordinary IKEA laundry basket to the next level.
