IKEA Items and Chalk Couture
I hope you caught my post on Sunday regarding Coffee Share (if not click the link).
I made a trip to IKEA to look for items I could use my Chalk Couture products on. I purchased 10 items in total for just under $50.00 – $48.22 to be exact.
I love the surfaces that Chalk Couture sells and you can see all the products if you check out my chalk couture website https://www.chalkcouture.com/awandafulthing
I also wanted to show how versatile and easy it is to make customized items for your home, using products from other box stores.
Here are the products I bought. A real succulent plant, a package of three fake succulents, a laundry basket, 2 blank pillow cases, a soap dispenser and a wooden crate – yet to be assembled, and a small mat for boots or shoes.
The first item I revamped from IKEA was the matte black soap dispenser.
It was really easy to transform this into a customized shampoo dispenser for my bathroom.
I used one of the smaller Chalk Couture transfers. They have a sticky side and a side that you put the chalk paste or ink. I used chalk paste in white for this project. I had my tools ready which included my fuzzing cloth, white chalk paste, stir stick and small squeegie to apply the paste.
Once I removed the transfer and the paste was dry I sealed the paste with a spray matte laquer, just to make sure it didn’t wash off it it gets wet in the shower.
I really like how it turned out. It matches the other nautical decor in my bathroom.

Stayed tuned. I will be posting on all of the items I bought and how they turned out and how I plan to use them.

thanks….
It really elevates the piece – more high end looking. Looking forward to more posts on Chalk Couture!
I agree and I hope others realize how easy it can be to elevate a simply plain item into something you are proud to use or display.
