November Craft Challenge Repost

As I am still recovering from a personal bodily injury I am revamping and reposting a post from the past. It was a craft challenge I did with my friend and fellow blogger Amelia from You Can Always Start Now.

Without further ado ….November Craft Challenge – make a wreath or create something to hang on your front door for Christmas.

oct-challenge-3Just in case you are new and this is your first time visiting, here’s the scoop. On the Third Monday of every month, Amelia (my friend and fellow blogger) and I do a project or post based on one chosen DIY craft or theme, then we share our results and hopefully have inspired you to join the challenge. (The links to my challenge results can be found at the end of this post.)

Last month was our recycle a container challenge and the picture to the left shows one of the jars I am now using in my bathroom to hold makeup sponges.

This month the challenge was to  make a wreath or create something to hang on your front door for Christmas. I found a picture frame at one of my favorite thrift stores and spent one whole dollar on it so I could use the frame.

I removed the picture from the frame and gave the frame three coats of red craft paint. When the paint was dry, I used semi-gloss spray lacquer to protect the paint.  My snowflake embellishments and ribbon came from the Dollar Store and the silver and red ornaments are vintage ones I’ve had for a long time.

I cannot decide which door to hang it on, my inside white door or the outside blue door with the stained glass insert….I am leaning toward the blue door, what do you think?

In case you are curious, here is what I started with.

Amelia from the blog You Can Always Start Now always joins me in these challenges. Every November she takes part in NaNoWriMo which is an annual novel writing project that brings together professional and amateur writers from all over the world. She was quite busy with NaNoWriMo so she purchased an already made wreath from the Dollar Store along with some ornaments to embellish it.  I think it looks fantastic and I am sure it will look wonderful on her front door.

Be sure to Mark Your Calendar for December when we will be creating something using wine corks.  This will also be our last challenge for the year.

  1. So pretty and love the frame and balls, simple but so effective.
Thank you for sharing your links with us at #286 SSPS Linky. See you again next week.
Quick question: I noticed you sign up to the newsletter, but did you intend it to be the Blogging side or the Recipe side as you’re now signed up for the recipe component. Just checking

      1. Go to the weekly Inlinkz page and sign up through that list, then you’re good on both

  2. I love the red frame and can’t believe the transformation from the picture. I am partial to the red on white door.
