Anyone up for NaNoWriMo ??
Post by my friend and fellow blogger from : You Can Always Start Now
November is National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo). It is also a non-profit that supports, encourages and inspires writers of all ages and experience. Writing is a solitary event, but for the month of November you become part of a worldwide community of writers, all with the goal to write a 50,000 word novel within the calendar month of November.
You will get emails of encouragement, YouTube videos, access to forums and maybe even write-ins in your local area. It is free to join and for people that need a deadline (that would be me!) it is often a much needed push. For the month of November I feel a part of a larger group and enjoy the encouragement (emails and videos) and reading the forums. TIP: to reach your goal of 50,000 words in a month there is NO editing. No going back! It is all about getting your ideas down and putting that editor in another room (if not city) for the month.
So I challenge writers and anyone who has thought of writing to join NaNoWriMo for a whirl-wind November. As we watch our word-count climb, tune in to all day writing sessions via YouTube and Twitter, we become part of a community of writers at least for the month!
